Background
The idea of being an artist always resonated with me, however, it took a lot of exploration to find my medium of choice. I received a BFA in Illustration at the School of Visual Arts and primarily used ink and watercolor because of their spontaneous, simplistic, and versatile nature. These three words describe me as a designer because I want my art to resonate with a wide array of people.
There are certain aspects of UX design that I have already been practicing without being able to put a name to it. My degree focused on the importance of collaboration and research. I found that these skills and other foundations of art, including color theory, visual design, and storytelling, led to a natural progression in my career path as a designer.
